Inaugural "Pongo-Navas" Roll-A-Thon

Background:
From 4pm on March 8th, 2024 to 12pm on March 9th, a Roll-A-Thon will take place at the Process Over Prize Academy in Stafford, Virginia 22554. This Roll-A-Thon will be an opportunity for Jiu-Jitsu practitioners to come train (roll some rounds), fellowship, and if inclined to do so make a monetary contribution to a worthy cause, the Brothers In Arms Foundation, to honor the sacrifice made by Mo and Diego.

"Drop-In/Mat Fees" collected at the event and donations collected through this go fund me will be gifted to the Brothers in Arms Foundation (BIAF). Brothers In Arms Foundation is a charity and veterans service organization that offers a variety of programs, services, and events for wounded veterans. It operates as a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization. Founded in 2009 by Phillip Noblin to assist four wounded Marine Corps Forces Special Operations Command veterans, Brothers In Arms has gone on to assist Marines, Naval veterans, and the families of veterans in need.

Event:
This Roll-A-Thon is dedicated to Gunnery Sgt. Diego D. Pongo and Capt. Moises A. Navas, both from the 2nd Marine Raider Battalion, US Marine Corps. who made the ultimate sacrifice in combat on March 8, 2020, during a joint Iraqi-U.S. helicopter assault on a suspected ISIS-occupied cave complex in the Makhmur Mountains of northern Iraq.

The event scheme signifies:
– 20 hour Roll-A-Thon for the year when they were killed (2020).
– 3 minute rounds for the month (March)
– 8 minute rest in between rounds for the day (8th of March).
– $34 "Drop-In/Mat Fees" for their age (34 years old).
